Fiat Doblo Upgrade for 2020
Added: 13 March 2020
If you are wanting to upgrade your van this year then the Fiat Doblo panel van could tick all of the boxes for you. Not only is it small and compact, ideal if you work in the city or don’t have large items that need to be carried, but the price point is also extremely reasonable. Making this an affordable yet effective option for your one-man operation, small business or an addition to your larger fleet. The great news is that there are a series of upgrades due, so here is the low-down to help you make a more informed decision.
New engine options
The Fiat Doblo range with all new upgrades will be available Winter this year, and they are exciting. One of which is the change up in the engine range. The 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel engine is now available with 80PS and 95PS. This makes it a more enjoyable driving experience while still enabling you as the customer to get a decent fuel consumption. The 1.6-litre MultiJet engine can deliver either 105PS or 120PS. This is higher powered which would work well for tradesmen that fare driving for longer periods of time, or perhaps are battling hills and inclines regularly on their travels. However, the 1.4 petrol engine has been dropped from the line-up.
Fuel efficiency is a focus
With a lot of focus on the environment right now and a greener approach, not just for the vehicles we drive but also with business practices, Fiat have listened and the changes in the range mean that the Doblo is fuel efficient. All versions of the Doblo get Fiat's fuel efficiency Eco Pack as standard now. This means that the engine start/stop feature has been added. Perfect for businesses that operate in urban areas. A smart alternator and an electronically-controlled fuel pump to save energy and ensure higher combustion efficiency have also been added to the range. There have been no official figures released when it comes to fuel efficiency just yet, but Fiat have maintained that the maximum load area of up to 5.4 cubic metres and a payload of up to 1000kg has been retained.
Trim level changes and upgrades
Finally, the Fiat Doble range has the four trim levels it once had for you to choose from which are Standard, SX, Tecnico and Sportivo. The SX trim level has had the most changes. Getting a near-side sliding door, driver height-adjustable seat and body coloured door mirrors. The Tecnico trim adds air conditioning, reversing sensors, navigation and cruise control which again will be highlights for nay urban drivers. The Sportivi also comes with 16-inch alloy wheels and folding electric heated door mirrors.
In conclusion, Fiat have made a lot of notable changes to the Doblo panel van range, and in the small van category, it looks like it will be a real contender against some of the competition. With fuel efficiency being a priority, changes to the trim levels and also the engine upgrades all coming into play later this year, it may be time to upgrade your van to the Fiat Doblo.
